Anchorage Community Development Authority Names Melinda Gant as the new Community Development and External Affairs Director
Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA), which oversees parking in downtown Anchorage and land redevelopment for the Municipality of Anchorage, has promoted Melinda Gant as its new Community Development & External Affairs Director.
"Since 1996, ACDA’s Parking & Development departments have benefited from Ms. Gant’s vast business and educational experience, commitment to the community, and development of new programs which has made her a valuable asset for ACDA,” said Andrew Halcro, Executive Director of ACDA.
During her 21 years with ACDA, Ms. Gant has worked on a number of large projects from inception through completion including the development of Glenn Square Shopping Center, Northpoint Bluff housing project in Government Hill, rebranding the Anchorage Parking Authority to EasyPark, development of ACDA’s Parking Program of Best Practices, creation of community and donation programs, and lead critical stakeholder meetings for both the Parking and Development departments.
As the new director, Ms. Gant will be overseeing redevelopment projects for ACDA, including the 6th Avenue project and 96 Flats, leasing for ACDA, and serving as the liaison for the Board of Directors and oversight of strategic planning.
