EasyPark Partners with HUGGS Community School Supply Drive

Participate in “School Supplies for Fines!” Pay $20 parking fines with pens or pencils

From July 26 – August 9, 2019, EasyPark will accept pencils or black/blue pens in lieu of payment for $20 parking citations as part of a community effort with  HUGGS (Helping Us Give School Supplies), a Lutheran Social Services of Alaska program, which provides school supplies to Anchorage students in need.

“EasyPark values service agencies that provide back to the community,” says Demetric Tuggle, Parking Director for EasyPark. “Providing assistance by accepting school supply items for parking citations is a positive start in supporting our local students for a successful school year.”

Donation values that are being accepted in lieu of $20 parking fine are the following:

• #2 Pencils – Quantity 200

or

• Blue or Black Pens – Quantity 100

Any current EasyPark ticket worth $20 is eligible. Limited to one ticket per license plate, tickets that are older than 30 days are not eligible. Payment must be in either all pencils or all pens.

Those who are interested in participating will need to bring their donations to the EasyPark office located at 440 B Street, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. from July 26 – August 9, 2019.

HUGGS will be distributing school supplies on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at East High School from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for grades K-12. For more information on the HUGGS program call 644-8477 or if interested in volunteering, sign up via www.cssalaska.org.
