ACDA Board of Directors Approves Parking Permit Rate Increase for 2019

May 03, 2019

Monthly permit rates will increase $5-$10 per month to offset operational expenses

EasyPark, parking services division of the Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA), has established new 2019 rates that will become effective July 1, 2019.

“EasyPark’s strategy is to review parking rates every 3 years to ensure that the agency is staying ahead of inflationary economic costs,” said Demetric Tuggle, Parking Director for EasyPark.  The 2019 rates maintain EasyPark’s position as one of the most affordable cities to park in the United States.”

This rate adjustment will help address customer concerns highlighted in a 2016 satisfaction survey, in addition to recovering costs associated with replacing aging revenue equipment that will no longer be supported at the end of the year. Scheduled improvements include replacing revenue control equipment in 3 parking garages, modernization of garage elevators, the installation of security cameras, and facility structural repairs.

Garage and parking lot monthly permits will increase $10 per month and on-street monthly permits will increase $5 per month. Pay-by-Phone payments will be reset to the 2016 rates (i.e. 1 hour parking lot rate at $1.25 per hour). All hourly parking for garages, lots and street parking will remain the same.
